C-Path Appoints Biotech Executive and Investor Dr. Milad Alucozai to Board of Directors

TUCSON, Ariz., June 11, 2026 — Critical Path Institute® (C-Path) today announced the appointment of Milad Alucozai, DrPH, MPH, M.Sc., to its Board of Directors. Dr. Alucozai is a longtime leader in the U.S. biotechnology and startup community who has worked as a founder, investor, operator, and community builder, and is the creator of the Bio-Industrial Technology Stack (BITS) framework, which reframes biology as a geopolitical and industrial asset. A neuroscientist and startup investor, he bridges computational biology, machine learning, and AI-driven drug development. His appointment reflects the organization’s commitment to integrating emerging biotechnology and human-relevant research models into its global mission of accelerating safer, more effective treatments.

Alucozai is co-founder and general partner of Pamir Ventures, which he launched with Roger Ferguson, former vice chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve. The firm serves as the first check for technical pioneers building breakthrough companies that redefine markets. He is also co-founder and board member of Revalia Bio, a human-biology data infrastructure company. Through its Human Data Stack, Revalia transforms non-transplantable donated human organs and tissues into high-fidelity biological data for drug development, generating an entirely new source of clinically relevant human insight.

Recognized by Business Insider in 2025 as one of the top 100 early-stage investors, he currently serves as an external advisor to Amgen and as a member of the Advisory Committee at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University.

Over the course of his career, Alucozai has helped companies raise hundreds of millions of dollars in venture capital and supported billions of dollars in startup-pharma partnerships and co-development deals. He previously served as an external advisor to AstraZeneca and supported $1.5 billion in non-dilutive Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) funding as an Expert in Residence through Digitalis Commons.

“Milad’s scientific training, his years of founding and funding companies at the frontier of biology and computation, his work advising ARPA-H and his deep and unwavering belief that drug development must be built on human data rather than approximations make him an extraordinary addition to this board,” said M. Wainwright Fishburn, J.D., chairman of the board at C-Path. “On behalf of the entire board, we are so grateful he is joining us, and we look forward to working alongside him.”

“Milad is a scientist, a founder, a strategist, and an investor whose entire career has been devoted to some of the hardest and most important problems in medicine,” said C-Path CEO Klaus Romero, M.D., M.S., FCP. “His rigor, his creativity, and his genuine commitment to the people waiting for innovative treatments are exactly what this organization stands for. I look forward to everything we will accomplish together.”

“I’m a builder at heart, and I’m joining C-Path because I believe it’s one of the most important organizations in medicine — and one of the most exciting,” said Alucozai. “For more than 20 years, C-Path has done the hard, patient work of earning trust across competitors, regulators and patient advocates. That foundation is exactly what makes the road ahead so promising. I can’t wait to help write the next chapter, and to do it for the patients depending on all of us.”

Dr. Alucozai graduated Phi Beta Kappa in neuroscience from Purdue University’s Honors Program, earned a master’s degree in immunology and public health from Maynooth University, and holds a doctorate from the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. He also completed a Visiting Scholar appointment at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University.

The appointment is effective immediately.
