Critical Path Institute® (C-Path) is eager to celebrate the recognition of its Biomarker Data Repository Co-chair Glenda Roberts as a recipient of the 2026 Derek Forfang Patient Advocate Award. The award, presented by Ardelyx, honors leaders who have made significant contributions to advocating for people living with chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Roberts was recognized alongside four other advocates for their dedication to improving the lives of patients and families affected by kidney disease. Established in 2025, the Derek Forfang Patient Advocate Award commemorates the legacy of a passionate CKD advocate and celebrates individuals who amplify patient voices and advance meaningful change in kidney care.
A long-time champion for kidney patients and research, Roberts has worked to bridge the gap between clinical science and the lived experiences of people with kidney disease. She serves on over 15 advisory committees and has contributed to more than 50 publications focused on kidney health and patient engagement. Roberts also directs communications for the Kidney Precision Medicine Project and serves on the boards of several organizations, as well as C-Path’s Community Engagement Committee.
At C-Path, Roberts contributes to the biomarker initiative, which helps advance biomarker development and data sharing to accelerate medical product development. Her advocacy and leadership continue to ensure that patient perspectives remain central to scientific progress.
Recipients of the award will be honored during a reception at the National Kidney Foundation’s spring clinical meetings in New Orleans.
