2019 PSTC Japan Safety Biomarker Conference
Date: April 17-18, 2019
Location: RIKEN Institute, Yokohama, Japan
Website: The Second PSTC Japan Safety Biomarker Conference
The Critical Path Institute’s (C-Path) Predictive Safety Testing Consortium (PSTC), with the cooperation and support of the RIKEN research institute, Japan’s National Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS), the Japanese Society of Toxicology (JSOT) and Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA), is delighted to announce the 2019 PSTC Japan Safety Biomarker Conference to be held April 17-18, 2019, in Yokohama, Japan.
The biennial conference will bring together leading scientists and researchers from industry and academia, as well as government regulatory authorities, and provides a unique opportunity to gain perspective on biomarker development and application of biomarkers in preclinical and clinical research.
Conference participants will explore areas of cooperation in the clinical application of biomarkers and drug development tools and their qualification, and share knowledge about safety biomarkers in drug development via speaker presentations, panel sessions and a poster exhibition.
The objective of the conference is to explore existing and emerging biomarkers that can accelerate the drug development process, inform clinical trials and improve post-marketing studies. Topics to be covered include exploring beyond protein biomarkers (miRNA, immune-MS, small circulating RNA), cluster/network analysis of genomics for disease grouping, safety testing, drug efficacy and disease diagnosis, biomarker qualification evidentiary considerations, and harmonizing global drug development tool qualification. The conference format is designed to elicit participant feedback on biomarker qualification and identify areas for synergy across the pharmaceutical industry and academia.
Submission of abstracts for the poster session is encouraged, with a deadline of Friday, Feb. 15, 2019. Instructions for submitting abstracts are available on the conference website.
